Using two shades of the same color when painting a headboard is both unexpected and visually interesting. Below (left) the light green stencil paint makes a monochromatic statement against the pear green wall color. Featured on Simply Seleta this project takes its inspiration from a magazine image.
Remember though that the attempt here is to pick and choose décor that complements the headboard. These furnishings should not overpower the image of the exquisite live-edge headboard and take away from its mesmerizing presence. If you have a bed frame that is entirely crafted from raw natural wood then let it shine through as well by keeping the bedding as simple and neutral as possible.
This next headboard couldn’t be more unique! A large slab of wood becomes a one-of-a-kind backing for a bed featuring eclectic pillows. Are there other natural or found items that can become your ideal headboard? This image can’t help but inspire endless possibilities…
Or instead of building the unit around the bed just pick up a couple of bookshelf units from IKEA and place your bed directly in front of them like this gorgeous example featured on Brit + Co which has a very strong library feel to it.
