Comfort is a big part of deciding on the right headboard and in the generation of iPads and Kindles this aspect becomes even more important. A poorly designed and tough headboard can quickly lead to spine problems for those who spend several hours in bed flipping through web pages or those in a book.
If you have enough books you may not even need an actual bookshelf for this to work. Seriously. Just take a look at the wildly creative headboard made entirely out of books and nothing else found on We Heart It.
(This is the way it should be!) Bedrooms in white and gray are unsurprisingly the popular choice here but you can even couple this headboard with bright hues like purple and blue. Do stay away from an orange or yellow backdrop though as the wooden headboard might simply be lost in a backdrop with color that is very similar to it.
Using two shades of the same color when painting a headboard is both unexpected and visually interesting. Below (left) the light green stencil paint makes a monochromatic statement against the pear green wall color. Featured on Simply Seleta this project takes its inspiration from a magazine image.
